Saving Private Ryan is a film based on the second world war. It starts on d-day and then goes on into french territory. Captain John Miller (Hanks) is the leader of an eight man squad including Sargent Mike Horvath (Burns), Medic Wade (Ribisi), Corporal Upham (Davies) and Privates Reiben, Jackson, Mellish and Caparzo (Burns, Pepper, Goldberg and Diesel) . They are on a mission to find a private James Ryan (Damon) and bring him home.

This war film is the grittiest and most realistic film ever made. It started many of the actors careers up and gave Spielburg a big name.
