The Italian Job (1969)

Director: Peter Collinson
Starring: Michael Caine, Noel Coward, Benny Hill
Certificate: PG
Genre: Crime Action Comedy
Awards: None

If your looking for the 2003 version of The Italian Job then you must be stupid as it says 1969 at the top but also because I would never watch a film that looks as bad as that. Today we're talking about a British Classic, not a pointless Hollywood remake. The Italian Job (the only one!) is about Charlie Croker (Caine), a small time crook who wants to steal a gold shipment in Turin by creating a traffic jam. Mr Bridger (Coward) has supplied the money and Croker has also taken on professor Simon Peach (Hill) to plan the scientific things.

If this film had not been made then films such as Oceons 11 and perhaps even Inception may not have been made. This is a classic British film with brilliant actors.

The Silence of the Lambs Poster
In The Silence of the Lambs, CIA agent Clarice Starling (Foster) is trying to track down serial Killer: Buffalo Bill (Levine). She goes on the advice of her boss Jack Crawford (Glen) to ask for help from DR Hannibal Lector (Hopkins) who had met Bill once before.

The Silence of the Lambs is Creepy but not as scary as The Omen or Watership Down .Anthony Hopkins was brilliant as Hannibal and deserved his Oscar as did Jodie Foster.

The Simpsons Movie (2007)

Director: David Silverman
Starring: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardly Smith, Albert Brooks
Certificate: PG
Genre: Animation Comedy
Awards: None
The Simpsons Movie Poster
The Simpsons movie is about the Simpsons family and their adventure. After Homer Simpson (Castellaneta) dumps a silo of pig poo in lake Springfield, Ross Cargale (Brooks) of the environmental protection agency imprisons the whole town in a giant dome. The family find away out and move to Alaska where they find out that the Government are going to make Springfield into a second Grand Canyon. Now it is up to Homer, Marge (Kavner), Lisa (Smith), Bart (Cartwright) and Maggie to save Springfield.

The Simpsons Movie is a very funny film and has almost a joke a minute. After watching it for the fifth time however, you don't find the jokes funny anymore. I would love to see a Simpsons Movie 2 and hope that there will be one in the near future.
