Trading Places (1983)

Director: John Landis
Starring: Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphey, Ralph Bellamy, Don Ameche, Jamie Lee Curtis
Certificate: 15
Genre: Comedy
Awards: None

Trading places focuses on a bet between two owners of a company who bet that if they employ a con artist on the streets and destroy the life of the man who works for them at the moment, they will swap attitudes. So, Lewis Winthorpe III (Aykoyd) and Billy Ray Valantine (Murphey) trade places...

Trading Places is indeed very funny. Eddie Murphey is the best thing in this film. He becomes the character that most of us can relate to (Winthorpe is too snobbish, even when he has been thrown into the deep end). The writing is clever and imaginative while the villains are despicably superior.

****Good
