imgres.jpgThe Beach is particular a beach on an island in Thailand where only a few people know about it and even fewer know where it is. When Richard (DiCaprio) is told of the beach by a mad man named Daffy (Carlyle), He goes off with a woman he fancies named Francoise (Ledoyan) and her boyfriend -Etienne (Canet) - to find it. When they eventually get there, they meet the community led by a woman named Sal (Swinton) and start their life in paradise, but soon things begin to go wrong.

The Beach is a gripping tale that is held together by the narration of Leonardo DiCaprio and it shows how good Robert Carlyle is good at playing mad people (He played Hitler in a TV series). It is scary at parts and beautiful in others.

****Good
