L.A. Confidential (1997)

Director: Curtis Hanson
Starring: Guy Pearce, Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey, James Cromwell, Kim Basinger, Danny Devito
Certificate: 18
Genre: Crime
Awards: Best adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting actress (Basinger)

L.A. Confidential follows three cops. Bud White (Crowe), a violent man who hates people who beat women; Edmund Exley (Pearce), a rookie who wants to live up to his famed father and Jack Vincennes (Spacey), a man who has connections with the papers. When a mass homicide occurs in a bar, the three are among the people who are trying to find who is responsible.

The film has a good story with a star studded cast that performs excellently. Spacey is as good as ever, Pearce makes his character a likeable guy while Crowe gives us a character we will definitely remember. The supporting cast is also good with Basinger giving us a strong feminine character while DeVito plays a sleazy journalist.

****Good
