The Departed (2006)

Director: Martin Scorsese
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga
Certificate: 18
Genre: Crime
Awards: Best director, Best editing, best adapted screenplay, best picture

The Departed focuses on the state police in boston who are trying to catch the crime lord Frank Costello (Nicholson). To do this, the police has planted their undercover agent Billy (DiCaprio) into Frank's gang. Unfortunately, the police aren't the only ones with double agents. Collin Sullivan (Damon) gives information from the police straight to Frank, but now the two undercover's have to find out who is the rat before they are found out instead.

The Departed is a massive cat and mouse chase where the two men take turns to be the hunter and the hunted. The acting is fantastic, and the story will keep you gripped to your seat. One aspect of the film is not explained, but other than that it is a perfect film. The ending left me with my mouth open all the way through the credits. This is definitely in my top ten!
